🫏 Guild Wars 2 Connection Problems
We've addressed the Gem Store issues, and believe that folks can get into the store now. The larger issue of game connections is also being addressed, and it seems to be improving. We'll continue to work on this problem until things are back to normal.
It seems to be a problem with Amazon servers (at least in Europe). Look at this hop: 13 --- 50/ 50 =100% 0/ 50 = 0% 52.93.16.185 This IP is associated with an Amazon server in Dublin. I have been trying for 2 days now to get a playable connection. I'll try again this weekend and if I'm feeling really generous next weekend.
Basically, this issue should fix itself, because of the way how the DNS works for these CDN servers. Those updates generally happen every few minutes, and you tend to get a different IP every time it updates. Normally when a server is not reachable, it shouldn't pop up on the DNS.
Quote. You can also transfer from NA to EU and vice-versa for gems, so it's not like they can't exactly meet. Plus, Guesting is basically just a "temporary transfer" with restrictions (No WvW, etc.) You need to first "understand" what actually happens behind the scenes before making such remarks.
Try using -clientport 443. Others have said one of these helped keep the connection alive: Play a YouTube video in the background on mute. Spam keypresses during cutscenes. (WASD, Space, 1111, etc.) Keep another player in your party who is not in the instance (online anywhere else in the game) Report. r/Guildwars2.
The outage was mitigated by Level3 around 2/12/14 4:01:32 AM GMT or 11:01PM EST. This is most likely your issue as Level3 is one of the ISPs used by ANet for server connectivity. The DDoS was caused by an NTP amplification attack and NTP should now be shut off on the core routers that had the problem. Looks like the problems are back again.
Turn off any computers connected to the modem or router. Unplug the power cable from your modem, then do the same for any wireless or wired routers you're using. Wait for 60 seconds while the modem and routers are unplugged. Plug in your modem, turn it on, and allow it to fully boot up. Give it a minute or two to re-authenticate with your ISP
Starting with today's patch, I'm unable to connect to GW2. The game ran fine earlier. I'm 90% sure it's a combination of Windows 10 security plus GW2's particular form of handshaking, but I'm unable to figure out what to do. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. It happens that this is the fi
are you useing a antivires like blackice or kasperkey? sometimes this stuff messes with the game connection but you wont see it on web. if this not the issue then thare is a chance it can be from the pathing from your pc to anet meaning you are crossing a lot of internet intersections. this one is a common issue for a lot of players but has been inproved. what can also help is to do a ip ping
But about the connection issues: Consider testing if you can get improvements by testing both EU and NA servers. You don't have to pay a transfer fee for the test. Just make a new free account for the other region and test it for a while. If it is better, you can buy a transfer for your main account.
I’d like you to try forcing your game launcher to connect to a different server by doing the following: Navigate to your Guild Wars 2 folder. By default, this will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2. Right-click on "GW2.exe" and select "Create Shortcut." Right-click the shortcut and select “Properties.”.
