Well, actually, two models – the Rebel 300 and the larger Rebel 500. To say these new bikes were completely updated would be an understatement, as there’s really no comparison in looks between
Best Cruiser: First introduced in the mid-1980s, the Honda Rebel has long been a go-to option for new riders, though in recent years as the entry-level segment has spiked in popularity, Big Red was prompted to unveil a new generation of Rebel with the 300 and 500cc (and 1,078cc) versions.
Honda decided to modernize their small-displacement cruiser offering with the introduction in 2017 of the new Rebel 300 and 500 machines. Though the Honda Rebel 300 shared many components with its 500cc sibling it is very much its own bike, with its own unique character. The Rebel platform takes a simple, raw, cutting-edge style and makes it
If the Rebel 1100 is a start, maybe I'll start dreaming of a new series of V4 Hondas. A new Magna and a new Interceptor would look good next to the Rebel and my old VF Interceptors. At the same time, the Rebel 500 is still a hell of a bike, and nobody would be wrong for sticking with it.
On a new bike it's stressful and expensive to get things back to stock. -The rebel 500 is a great bike, but in all likelihood you'll want to ride something else in 1-2 years. A friend of mine a few weeks ago got a used 2017 rebel 500 as his first bike. He paid $4000 which I think is fair if you’re gonna learn on it for a year or 2. It’ll hold its value well too. So if the price is right it’s a nice bike. I have a 2020 rebel 500 as my first bike and love it.

So I’ve been trying about it for a while and am tempted to buy a Honda rebel as my first bike and was wondering what’s everyone’s opinion of them for a beginner. Also have looked into the Kawasaki Vulcan s but been seeing people saying the rebel is a better city riding bike.
