🌝 Are Revell Models Any Good
Theold Revell models are quite decent if you have patience and a few good modeling skills to deal with the minor issues. The kind of stuff every good modeler should learn along the way. I see a distinct lack of patience amongst some people here that whine and bitch about Revell stuff as if it's all crap, which is totally untrue.
Therest are molded closed. It’s arrangement, detailing and decorations are very different from the small 1/196 scale kit. The 1/146 scale kit’s appearance is nearly identical to the large 1/96 scale kit. Think of it as the 1/96 scale kit’s smaller sister. Below is the boxart for three releases of that kit. Manybeginner modelers often use watercolors on their plastic model kits since they share almost similar features as acrylic paints. But, watercolors on plastic models are never a good option. Plastic models are hydrophobic and not absorbent. Watercolor paint works on paper because the water carries the pigment into and onto the paper.

Conclusion Compared to the major player in scale modeling, Tamiya, the Academy plastic model kits are good models worth the money. The only significant drawback plaguing most of their models is the low quality of the decals that the build process quite challenging. Other than this, Academy models have an excellent build quality and a decent fit.
Checkedsome of my Revell kits and found that they are all printed in Germany but made in other countries Poland, Korea. The Korean Company is called Ace Model they make oem for Revell at least the 1/72 armor kits that I'm aware of . I have yet to discover who the Polish company is. I recall Revell/Monogram being bought out years ago.
