For me, time didn't change anything. I really love the books and I loved the show until things started to make no sense and the show was then, in the end, ruined completely. Of course some scenes were spectacular, but the overall anticipation and excitement I always felt when watching a new episode were gone.
• Game of Thrones Ruined Me! So I know I’m late but I just watched all 8 seasons of GOT in a little less than a month…I don’t say this lightly..GOT fucked tv shows up for me. Obviously seasons 7/8 weren’t the best but the show…it’s the best ever.
Show Avasarala has a much bigger role than in the books. She is there from the very beginning on the screen, whereas she first appears in the second book. Anderson Dawes is the opposite, in that his role is much bigger in the books. He's way more involved in the system politics, he's a much more important man.
When I read this passage a couple years ago, I was shocked. But the show took it too another level. That bloodcurdling scream made the brutality of Oberyn's death much more impactful. My heart was racing throughout the entire fight, and my stomach sunk lower than any other moment in the show or books thus far when Oberyn's skull got turned to mush.
It's not really fair to compare the two, especially since the show has veered away from the books in many ways (though still keeps other things right on target). I've read the books, I watch the show. I don't think one is better than the other. I love them both!
1. Mr-Slinky753. House Targaryen. • 13 days ago. I only recently watched the show and haven't finished the books yet. So far, it's the same as the show. I read each character's chapters in the actor's voices and imagine them to look the same. Maybe it'll change once they start to properly diverge and things happen differently.
It’s a spectacular event and arguably one of the greatest Game of Thrones scenes ever. 6. The Mountain vs. the Viper. Season 4, The Mountain and the Viper. The fight between the Mountain and the Viper is perhaps the most famous duel in GoT, save for Cleganebowl. And it certainly doesn’t disappoint.
Eventually was defeated by the NW, Starks, and Wildlings. Became a WW and now leads their army. SHOW. NK was one of the invading First Men. Captured by the Children and turned into a WW to help their war effort. Went rogue, raised an army of WW. Children and Men banded together to fight them off.
The show does a better job, I think, of pointing out that she is still young and can be naive, where as the book can lead you to believe that she is all grown up and mature now, when she really is not. TLDR; The show turns some of the very subtle and complex parts of the characters from the show into more obvious character traits.
Usually you can listen to a sample of an audiobook and if the narrator does a good job, listening will be just as good of an experience as reading. I listen to audiobooks all the time and it's great. Just as emotionally impacting (if it's a good book) as reading. Many audiobooks are abridged, so make sure you get the unabridged versions.
Spoilers. Is there anybody else, who thinks the represantion of the Sandsnakes (Obara, Nymeria, Tyene & others) went total cringe and dumb? Those sisters were my fav characters in the books, I really liked they have such a different personalities, but connected by Oberyn. I know, there were already a lot of storylines, but we got in the series
