Posted 28 June, 2020. You can’t do this, you need a MIB2. There is no way to activate Android Auto or MirrorLink on a MIB1. Only some cars such as the Fabia 3 got MirrorLink on the MIB1 but the FeC activation isn’t covered much as it’s better to throw in a MIB2 once CP and features are reworked. 1.
When connecting via cable I get prompted and my phone says "android Connected" however my car says "sorry cannot connect". Previous S10+ phone worked perfectly. Android App has been reinstalled on phone, including clear cache and force stop. Car system version shown below. Different cables used including the original Samsung s23+ charge cable.
Noticed the Bluetooth dropped out after about 3 hrs. Searched for the phone on the Amundsen and it couldn't find the phone ( it picked up the white van in front!). At a set of road works traffic lights quickly called up settings found the Skoda pairing and re-established the connection. It dropped out 20 minutes later.
Apple Car play works as I hoped Android auto would but I lost all hope. In the help menu where it is explained how to connect, it says that android auto works ONLY via cable. NOWHERE it is written that it's actually supported but (not on android auto page not on Skoda page) but also nowhere (except that help page in the car itself) is it
In the last two years all skoda models have problems with this. I have a Kamiq from 2020, I don’t use Android Auto, I use Apple CarPlay.
